Learn MoreWhy I Choose Private Pay
I have chosen to operate as a private-pay practice because I want to provide counseling that is guided by the needs of each client, rather than the limitations or requirements of insurance companies.
Working outside of insurance allows me greater flexibility in determining the focus, frequency, and duration of counseling. It also allows me to approach counseling from a biblical framework without having to justify that approach according to an insurance company's definition of medical necessity.
This means our work together can remain focused on your counseling goals, the concerns you bring into sessions, and the meaningful changes you are seeking.
Payment Information
I believe financial expectations should be clear before counseling begins. Here is what to know about payment and available options.
Private Pay
I operate as a private-pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Out-of-Network Benefits
I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company if your plan offers out-of-network benefits. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance provider and is not guaranteed.
HSA & FSA
Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards are accepted for eligible counseling services.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a fee.
Before Getting Started
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the No Surprises Act, individuals who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of scheduled health care services.
You may request a Good Faith Estimate when scheduling services or before receiving care. When services are scheduled in advance, the estimate must be provided within the timeframes required by law.
If you receive a bill from me that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
For more information about your rights, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Do you accept insurance?
I operate as a private-pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits. Coverage and reimbursement are determined by your insurance plan.
What if I can't afford the rates?
I understand that the cost of counseling is an important consideration. If the listed rates feel out of reach, I encourage you to reach out. While I cannot guarantee reduced fees or availability, I'm happy to discuss your circumstances and help you consider possible next steps.
When is payment due?
Payment for individual counseling sessions is due at the time of service. Payment arrangements for premarital counseling and couples intensive services will be discussed before beginning.
How often will I need counseling?
Individual counseling is typically scheduled weekly, especially at the beginning of the counseling process. Frequency may be adjusted over time based on your needs, progress, and counseling goals.
Are counseling sessions offered in person?
All counseling services are offered through secure telehealth. A reliable internet connection and a private location where you can speak freely without being overheard or interrupted are required for each session.
Do you provide counseling to clients outside of Texas?
No. I currently provide counseling exclusively to individuals who are physically located in Texas at the time of their sessions. Because counseling services are regulated by the state where the client is physically located, I am only able to provide telehealth services to clients who are in Texas during their appointments.
Let's talk about what you're facing.
